BBC ‘Your
Game’
BBC Your Game is a national football, music and cultural tournament
for 16 – 25 year olds that visits cities all around the UK during
the summer.
It’s not only a lot of fun but also provides
great opportunities for young people to get involved in all kinds of
projects in their community.
Most importantly it gives young people from
all walks of life the chance to realize their potential across a whole
range of activities from sport and community coaching to broadcasting

Community Sports Coach; Youth Worker; Activity Leader; Sports Development
Officer; Positive Futures Worker…these are just some of the
careers available to you.
…and you can get qualified for free! Chartstage
have teamed up with BBC Your Game to make sure you have free access to
training.
These are the
courses you could do:
Sport & Fitness
Level 1
Are you a member of a team or attend regular fitness training? Maybe
you are already taking part in some kind of coaching training or involved
in a community based sporting activity? If so you’re half way there
to achieving a Sport & Fitness Level 1. You must be aged 14 to complete
the award.
Certificate in Community
Volunteering Level 1&2
If you’re aged 14+ and maybe help out on a local project or volunteer
at a sports club you could get this qualification at either a Level 1or
Level 2. This will help open doors to all kinds of careers. It also recognises
all the hard work you’ve been doing already.
Certificate in Community
Sports Work Level 3
If you’re 16+ and already have a Level 2 qualification you need
to be thinking about this course. CCSW is a professional development
qualification for community sports coaches, sport and youth officers
and activity leaders. It a practical course that helps you develop leadership,
coaching and communication skills to equip you to run a community sports
project. This qualification is recognised nationally by all major employers
looking for trained and qualified staff.
What do I do then?
If you took part in a BBC Your Game tournament speak to your team manager
and they’ll be able to put you in touch with us. Or if not, but
you’re part of a project such as Kickz, Positive Futures, Princes
Trust or part of a local sports club then speak to your project leader
and ask them to give us a call.
It might be that a few of you from the
same project want to do the same course. We can advise on how the courses
are funded and get you started. Or if you’re at school, or don’t
attend a project but still want to do the courses then call us direct
