Award in Sport and Fitness VRQ Level 1
Course Description
This award has been designed to accredit a range of sport & fitness activities undertaken by young people. The kinds of activity that this award can accredit include:

  • Long & short-term sports & fitness activity, including regular involvement as a member of a team or regular fitness training
  • Young people taking part in coaching training
  • First Aid Courses
  • Involvement in community based sporting activity

The award is designed to take about 60 hours of purposeful activity to complete. This includes a period of fitness activity, which must be a minimum of 8 hours. This could equate to approximately half an hour every week for one term.

Tutor Training
To offer the Sport & Fitness Level 1 to young people in your project it is a mandatory requirement that all staff attend tutor training prior to commencement of the award. The training is run by Chartstage who are the Approved Assessment Centre and External Verifier for this qualification.

Course Requirements
Candidates must be aged 14 or over on completion of award
